MALT's Day on the Ranch
Join us for the 2nd annual A Day on the Ranch, a free, family-friendly community event on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1–4 pm, at Black Mountain Ranch in West Marin.
After an incredible event and strong community turnout in 2025, we’re thrilled to bring this special day back. A Day on the Ranch is an opportunity to come together, slow down, and experience the beauty and vitality of a working ranch.
What to Expect
- Live Music – Settle in with local sounds as the perfect soundtrack to your afternoon on the land
- Picnic & Relax – Bring a blanket and your favorite treats, spread out under open skies, and soak in the pastoral beauty of a working ranch
- Meet the People and Animals – Get up close with the ranch residents and discover the rhythms of daily life on a working farm
- Sample Local Cheese – Taste the flavors of West Marin with artisan cheeses crafted right here in our agricultural community
- Explore & Hike – Wander trails across protected land and discover the sweeping vistas that make this landscape so special
- Learn About MALT – Connect with our team and discover how conservation keeps working ranches thriving for generations to come
- Connect with Community – Gather with neighbors, make new friends, and celebrate the shared commitment to protecting our agricultural heritage
About Black Mountain Ranch
Protected by MALT since 1993, Black Mountain Ranch is one of West Marin’s most iconic working landscapes, home to farmers, ranchers, lavender, and fiber producers. This event celebrates the land, the people who steward it, and the community that supports its protection.
