Update June 1, 2025: We are excited to finally announce the grand opening of our farm store and goat petting zoo at 33920 Simpson Rd, Winchester, California! We’ll be open on Saturdays starting June 14, 2025, from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Reservations are not required for the farm store or petting zoo. We’re also offering our first guided tour and cheese tasting on 6/14 at 9:00am or 11:00am. Reservations are required for the tour. Please contact us to purchase your tickets and reserve your spot—spaces are limited! Please note: No pets are allowed on our property. They scare our goats, and we have guardian dogs who do not tolerate other animals, especially dogs. Thank you for your understanding—we hope to see you there!
Drake Family Farms cheeses (fresh chèvre and aged raw goat cheese) are “farmstead” (i.e. made on the farm with milk exclusively from the farm’s own animals). Dan Drake is a veterinarian who has been overseeing the health of the Drake Family Farms goat herd for the past 26 years. Dan brought 143 goats from the farm in Utah to start his farm of Southern California goats. All the goats have names and are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association. Each have individual personalities and are considered pets. The herd consists of Nubian, Saanen, Alpine, and Snubian Goats. (Snubians are a hybrid cross between Saanen and Nubians).
